To be eligible for the Accelerated Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Must be 19 years of age or older (varies based on provincial ministry requirements).
  • Education: High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent. Alternatively, a minimum Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (BST) score of 265 in quantitative and 365 in verbal may be accepted.
  • Medical Clearance: Submission of a valid medical certificate, including proof of immunizations.
  • Technical Literacy: Achieve a minimum score of 18 out of 30 on the NACC Technical Literacy Exam.
  • Physical Health: Demonstrate adequate physical health to meet the demands of the role.
  • English Proficiency: Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Police Clearance: Provide a clear criminal record check or evidence of a full pardon.
  • Vulnerable Sector Disclaimer: Sign a disclaimer acknowledging the program's work with vulnerable populations.
